Oklahoma Home and Community Education offering family mental health and opioid addiction workshop

The Oklahoma Home and Community Education Group in Oklahoma County is offering a Family Mental Health & Opioid Addiction workshop that is free and open to the public. The educational seminar will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 25 at the OSU Extension Conference Center, 2500 N.E. 63rd Street, OKC, OK 73111.

Mickey Simpson, McClain County Family & Consumer Sciences Educator will be the presenter. The workshop will provide insight into why opioid addiction has become such a problem in Oklahoma. It will define the major classification of mental health disorders and the impact of opioids on communities.  Information will be shared on how family members can recognize signs and symptoms and where they can seek assistance.
