Tulsa Livestock Auction report
The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 3,183 head selling on Oct. 9, compared to 3,911 head a week ago and 3,272 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, steers were selling $6 to $7 lower. Heifers were selling $7 to $9 lower. Quality was good. Demand was good. The offering included 22% of the receipt totals are feeder cattle over 600 pounds while 37% of the total receipts are heifers. Slaughter cows were selling mostly steady to $1 lower. Slaughter bulls were selling mostly steady to $2 higher. A total of 399 cows and bulls sold with 64% going to packers.
