Tulsa Livestock Auction report

The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 2,386 head sellin on Oct. 15, compared to 3,183 head a week ago and 3,538 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Compared to a week ago, steers were selling $7 to $9 lower. Heifers were selling $5 to $7 lower. Cold, wet weather kept receipts low. Demand was good. Quality was mostly plain, few were average. The offering included 24% feeder cattle over 600 pounds with 43% of the total receipts heifers. Slaughter cows were selling $4 higher. Slaughter bulls were selling $1 to $3 lower. A total of 302 cows and bulls sold with 55% going to packers.
