Tulia Livestock Auction report
The Tulia Livestock Auction, Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 448 head selling on Oct. 25, compared to 1,170 head a week ago and 2,423 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.
Compared to a week ago, light weight calves were selling steady to $3 higher. Yearlings were not well tested. Receipts were light on good demand. Muddy conditions continued to hamper cattle movement but boosted momentum for stocker calves going back to recently benefited pasture. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling steady to $3 lower on a light test. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 14%, 0% replacements and 86% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 73% steers and bulls, 27% heifers. Nearly 55% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
