Grain market close
The USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colo., in the closing grain report for Oct. 30, reported in futures trading that Chicago December soft red winter wheat was $4.99 3/4, down 7 1/2 cents; December corn, $3.64 3/4, down 2 cents; and November soybeans, $8.33 1/2, down 5 1/2 cents.
The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, $5.54 3/4 to $5.74 3/4, down 6 3/4 cents; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $5.59 3/4 to $5.74 3/4, down 7 1/2 to up 2 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $4 3/4 to $4.01 3/4, down 2 to 4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $7.13 3/4, down 3 3/4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, unavailable; and No. 2 yellow soybeans, barge, $8.51 1/2 to $8.53 1/2, down 6 1/2 to 5 1/2 cents.
Colby, Kan., unit train wheat bid was $4.45.
In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $4.55 to $4.75.
No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, north central Colorado, was mostly 7 cents lower, at $4.43 to $4.55.
In northeast Colorado, wheat was $4.25 to $4.45.
In east central Colorado, wheat was $4.30 to $4.40.
In southeast Colorado, wheat was $4.25 to $4.50.
In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $4.15 to $4.45.
No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was mostly 2 cents lower and $3.80 to $3.81 per bushel.
In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $3.25 to $3.50.
In east central Colorado, corn was $3.30 to $3.35.
In southeast Colorado, corn was $3.10 to $3.68.
In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, corn bids were $3.24 to $3.32 per bushel.
No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was mostly 4 cents lower at $5.18 to $5.59 per cwt.
No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were 5 to 10 cents lower at $6.80 to $6.83 per bushel.
White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $9.25 to $9.75 per cwt., mostly $9.25 to $9.50.
Sunflowers were $18 cwt.
In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $3.80 per bushel. Barley was unavailable.
In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $22 per cwt; in North Dakota and Minnesota, pinto beans were steady $21 to $22. In North Dakota and Minnesota, black beans were steady $26. Great Northerns were steady at $22 in northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska. In North Dakota and Minnesota, navy beans were steady $21 to $22. In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, light red kidneys were steady $35; in North Dakota and Minnesota, light red kidneys were steady $34 to $36.
