Tulsa livestock auction report
The Tulsa Feeder Cattle Auction, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 3,505 head selling on Nov. 5, compared to 4,836 head a week ago and 3,683 head last year, according to the USDA to Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, steers were selling $3 to $5 higher, with instances of light weight steer calves selling $9 to $12 higher. Heifers were selling mostly steady with the exception of 500 pound heifers having a much higher undertone noted. Demand remains good. Quality was plain through attractive. The offering included 21% of the receipt totals were feeder cattle over 600 pounds while 35% of the total receipts were heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling $5 lower. A total of 451 cows and bulls sold with 50% going to packers.
