Arkansas livestock auction summary
The summary of livestock auctions in Arkansas for the week ending Nov. 9, showed estimated receipts of 9,470 head selling, compared to 6,855 head a week ago and 12,320 head last year, according to the USDA-Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Little Rock, Arkansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were selling $4 to $10 lower. Feeder heifers were selling $2 to $8 lower, with instances selling $11 lower. Slaughter cows were selling $2 to $3 lower. Slaughter bulls were selling $3 lower. The supply included 6,850 stocker and feeder calves, 1,435 feeder yearlings, 380 replacement cows, 685 slaughter cows and 120 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 42% yearling heifers.
