Tulia Livestock Auction report
The Tulia Livestock Auction, Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 2,706 head selling on Nov. 15, compared to 2,177 head a week ago and 3,237 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers and heifers were selling steady to $3 lower. Trade was active on moderate to good demand. Several inches of snow fell across the trading area to start off the week that has local wheat pastures in good condition. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling steady. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 3%, less than 1% replacements and 97% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 48% steers and bulls, 52% heifers. Nearly 53% of the run weighed over 600 pounds. Tulia livestock will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday.
