Sorghum harvest progresses to 93 percent (MO)
Temperatures for the week ending Nov. 25 averaged 41.6 degrees, 0.3 degrees below normal, according to USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service, Heartland Regional Field Office, Missouri. Precipitation averaged 0.31 inches statewide, 0.57 inches below normal. There were 3.9 days suitable for fieldwork. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 4 percent short, 72 percent adequate, and 24 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 2 percent very short, 10 percent short, 82 percent adequate, and 6 percent surplus.
Soybeans harvested reached 85 percent this week, which is 9 percentage points behind last year. Sorghum harvested progressed to 93 percent this week. Winter wheat planted progressed to 89 percent. Winter wheat emerged progressed to 72 percent. Winter wheat condition was rated at 5 percent poor, 51 percent fair, 38 percent good, and 6 percent excellent.
