Tulsa Livestock Auction report

The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 4,911 head selling on Dec. 3, compared to 3,143 head a week ago and 4,109 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Compared to a week ago, steers and heifers were selling $6 to $8 lower. Quality was plain, few attractive. Demand was good. The offering included 18% of the receipt totals are feeder cattle over 600 pounds while 39% of the total receipts are heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling $3 lower. A total of 497 cows and bulls sold with 69% going to packers.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 29 head, 1400 to 2200 lbs., 72.00 to 77.00; low dressing, 64.00 to 69.00; very low, 56.00 to 61.00.

Replacement cows: All were pre-tested for pregnancy and age.
