In Nebraska, alfalfa hay, alfalfa hay, grass hay, ground and delivered hay and dehydrated pellets sold steady. Demand was light to moderate, instances good, according to the USDA Market News Service, Feb. 15. Prices given on per-ton basis, unless otherwise noted.
Eastern/central—Premium alfalfa, large squares, $180; good, large rounds, $95-$105, $130-$140 delivered; fair, large squares, $100. In South Dakota, East River and West River areas, alfalfa and grass steady as high quality hay supplies lessened. Sub-arctic winter weather and snow experienced the area in the past weeks meant hay was met with very good demand for hay.
