Georgia weekly livestock auction summary

The Georgia weekly livestock auction summary noted receipts of 7,082 head of cattle selling for the week ending June 13, compared to 7,884 head the previous week, according to the USDA-Georgia Department of Agriculture Market news, Thomasville, Georgia.

In comparison to the previous week, the slaughter cows were mostly steady and the slaughter bulls were steady to $3 higher and feeders over 600 pounds were steady to $4 higher, those under 600 pounds were steady to $3 higher and replacement cows were steady to $2 higher. The supply included 78% feeder cattle with 14% steers, 0% were dairy steers, 41% were heifers and 44% were bulls; 17% was slaughter cattle with 94% cows and 6% were bulls; and 6% was replacement cattle with 47% bred cows and 53% were cow-calf pairs. The feeder cattle supply weighing over 600 pounds was 12%.
