Arkansas weekly livestock sales summary

The Arkansas weekly livestock auction summary on June 21 indicated 7,445 head of cattle selling compared to 6,675 head selling the previous week, according to the USDA-Arkansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Little Rock, Arkansas.

When compared to the previous week, the feeder and stocker steers were mostly selling $2 to $8 lower. The feeder and stocker heifers were mostly selling $2 to $4 lower. The slaughter cows and bulls were mostly steady. The supply included 83% feeder cattle with 41% steers, 44% were heifers and 15% were bulls; 13% was slaughter cattle with 89% cows and 11% were bulls; 4% was replacement cattle with 18% stock cows, 62% were bred cows and 20% were cow-calf pairs. The feeder cattle supply weighing over 600 pounds was 22%.
