Pratt feeder cattle sale results
Pratt Livestock, Pratt, Kansas, reported estimated receipts of 4,500 head selling on April 29, compared to 5,071 head trading April 22 and 2,846 head selling a year ago, according to USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kansas.
For this preliminary report, and when compared with a week ago, feeder steers weighing 850 to 1,050 pounds were selling $2 to $3 higher. The feeder heifers weighing 750 to 900 pounds were trading steady to $1 higher. The heifers weighing 500 to 750 pounds were selling $1 to $2 lower. The heifer calves weighing 400 to 500 pounds were trading $4 higher on very light receipts. The demand was moderate. The supply included 100% feeder cattle with about 35% steers, 64% was heifers and 0% was bulls. The feeder cattle supply weighing over 600 pounds was 94%.
