Compared to last week, cash bids for were mostly higher for wheat, corn, soybeans, and sorghum according to USDA reported prices, Aug. 9.
For the week ending Aug. 4, a decrease of 349,673 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while an increase of 272,546 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed. Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed an increase of 295,216 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported a decrease of 31,548 metric tons.
Ethanol production for the week ending July 29, increased slightly to 1,043,000 barrels a day.
Wheat was up 4 to down 20 cents. Corn up 2 to 7 cents. Sorghum was up 7 cents. Soybeans were up 28 3/4 to 73 3/4 cents.
In the futures close, Kansas City September wheat was $8.51 3/4.
Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $9.16 3/4, up 4 cents; Minneapolis, $9.76 3/4 to 10.31 3/4, up 4 cents; Portland, $8.90 to $9.05, down 20 cents; St. Louis, $7.94 1/2 to $8.11 1/2, up 2 3/4 to 11 3/4 cents.
Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $6.80 1/2 to $6.90 1/2, down 3 to 13 cents; Minneapolis, $6.35 1/2 to 7.13 1/2, up 7 cents; southern Iowa, $6.65 1/2 to $6.95 1/2, up 7 to down 3 cents; Omaha, $6.85 1/2 to $7.04 1/2, up 7 cents.
Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $15.13 3/4 to $15.48 3/4, up 28 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $15.88 3/4 to $15.90 3/4, up 38 3/4 to 35 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, $15.98 3/4 to $16.08 3/4, up 28 3/4 cents; central Illinois processors, $15.58 3/4 to $18.03 1/4, up 28 3/4 to 73 3/4 cents.
