Read 2 Corinthians 1:3-7
Praise be to the God … who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.—2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NIV)
My glass-front cabinet holds intriguing items, and each one has a story to go with it. Some of the pieces also catch the attention of toddlers and crawling babies, and I enjoy watching their reactions when they plaster their faces or fingers against the glass. Later when the sun or a bright indoor light shines on the glass, I see the fingerprints all over it.
This fingerprint evidence left behind for me to find later makes me think of my life. When I am in the middle of difficult times, it is easy to overlook God’s fingerprints and involvement in my life. I sometimes question if God hears my prayers, sees my pain, or cares about my circumstances. Later, when God’s light shines in, I can look back and see that God has been there all along offering guidance, comfort, and walking beside me each step of the way.
Prayer: Dear God, thank you for the guidance and comfort that you give us along each step of life’s journey. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
Thought for the day: I can see evidence of God’s love for me everywhere.
