High Plains cattle sales report 

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Aug. 28 reported receipts of 54,919 head of cattle selling compared to 62,283 head a week ago and 61,336 head trading a year ago, according to USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri. This report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots. 

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 15,535 head, 1,300 to 1,650 lbs., 178.00 to 188.00 (184.57); 65 to 80% Choice, 6,704 head, 1,200 to 1,525 lbs., 178.00 to 186.00 (179.18); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,033 head, 1,300 to 1,400 lbs., 178.00 to 179.00 (178.54). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 1,214 head, 1,375 to 1,525 lbs., 186.00 to 191.00 (189.19). Dressed delivered, over 80% Choice, 7,517 head, 803 to 995 lbs., 290.00 to 295.00 (292.89); 65 to 80% Choice, 1,608 head, 861 to 964 lbs., 292.00 to 295.00 (292.11).
