The 2024 Taney County Livestock and Forage Conference is 6 to 9 p.m., Feb. 13, at Forsyth High School, 178 Panther Road, Forsyth.

The free event focuses on a variety of topics of interest to Taney County’s livestock producers, says Jake Hefley, University of Missouri Extension field specialist in agricultural business.

“Even though cattle producers are enjoying strong prices, it’s just as important now as it is in weak markets to be making informed business decisions,” says Hefley, who will address “Informed Decision-Making for the Cattle Business.”

MU Extension agronomy specialist Tim Schnakenberg will offer ways for producers to approach “Managing the Spring Flush of Grass.”

MU Extension state forestry specialist Hank Stelzer will present “Selling and Harvesting Timber: What Landowners Need To Know.”

Registration is free thanks to sponsors Branson Bank, First Community Bank of the Ozarks, H5 Fertilizer and Southern Bank. A free dinner will be provided to those who preregister by Feb. 9.
