The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is accepting applications for Source Water Protection Project grants from eligible public water systems through May 15. The grant offers up to $25,000 in reimbursement funding to eligible community public water systems that produce all or a portion of their drinking water from a raw water source.

Through this grant, the department provides financial assistance to qualified community public water systems to manage and protect raw drinking water sources, as well as to promote awareness of raw source water issues, values and benefits of protecting them. Eligible projects include source water protection plan implementation, development or revision projects.

Funding applications received through March 31will be ranked competitively and awarded in order of priority rank. Applications received after April 1 may be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis if available funding remains. Applicants must apply via the department’s Funding Opportunities Portal at dnr.mo.gov/financial-opportunities/funding-portal/access-request.
