Registration opens for Nebraska Ranch Practicum

Ranchers and cattle producers interested in learning about the latest research on range livestock production from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln are encouraged to register for the 2024 Nebraska Ranch Practicum offered by Nebraska Extension.

Eight sessions over the course of three seasons will cover the production cycle of livestock and forage resources. Participants will learn about the effective use of decision support tools to evaluate management and marketing alternatives, plant identification, range condition and grazing strategies, wildlife management, evaluation of cow body condition scores and beef cattle production systems.

The practicum is June 4 to 5, July 10, Sept. 4 to 5, Nov. 7, and Jan. 7 to 8. Registration is $675 with the fee for a spouse an additional $350. To register, submit a completed application and registration fee by May 3. Enrollment is limited to 35 participants.
