High Plains cattle sales report
The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending April 7, reported receipts of 65,915 head compared to 46,513 head a week ago and 83,638 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 18,285 head, 1,175 to 1,700 lbs., 183.00 to 188.00 (186.50); 65 to 80% Choice, 6,578 head, 1,185 to 1,530 lbs., 183.00 to 187.00 (184.12); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,838 head, 1,100 to 1,490 lbs., 183.00 to 184.00 (183.86). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 4,218 head, 1,325 to 1,600 lbs., 186.00 to 190.00 (189.06); 65 to 80% Choice, 164 head, 1,475 lbs., 189.00.
