CSU, Limagrain Cereal Seeds to have tour June 3 to 4

The Hard Winter Wheat Workers Meeting and Field Tour is scheduled for June 3 to 4 and headquartered in Fort Collins, Colorado.

The tour is co-hosted by Colorado State University and Limagrain Cereal Seeds.

On June 3, participants are invited for a visit to the Limagrain Cereal Seeds’ United States headquarters in Windsor, Colorado, at 7292 Greenridge Road, Unit 106, beginning at 4 p.m. LCS will give a tour of its milling and baking quality lab by Cathy Butti and a general update and presentation on LCS from Marla Barnett. Many LCS commercial employees and researchers will be in attendance.

Festivities planned

The evening next door at Mash Lab Brewing for food and drinks. The evening event is co-sponsored between Colorado Wheat and LCS, beginning at 5 p.m. The LCS headquarters is located in Windsor, Colorado, near Interstate Highway 25 just off Crossroads Boulevard at 7292 Greenridge Road, Unit 106. Mash Lab Brewing is just next door, located at 4487 Highland Meadows Parkway .

On June 4, an annual plot tour and a short business meeting is planned at the Agricultural Research, Development Education Center at the CoBank building (https://maps.app.goo.gl/qVBDxt4TWuLZwCa38). The plot tour will be immediately after at the main RDEC research farm. Other full sized plots and in two-row headrow plots are planned.

A panel from the Wheat Genetic Resource Center will discuss wild wheat introgression lines, and a demonstration of  CoAXium herbicide tolerance breeding efforts is available for those interested. After the tour, lunch is planned outside if the weather permits  and that will conclude the activities.
