The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending June 2, reported receipts of 59,317 head compared to 56,471 head a week ago and 79,398 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 17,520 head, 1,275 to 1,650 lbs., 186.00 to 193.00 (189.82); 65 to 80% Choice, 4,809 head, 1,205 to 1,550 lbs., 185.00 to 190.00 (186.53); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,363 heads, 1,320 to 1,400 lbs., 183.00 to 186.00 (185.69).
