HPJ Sorghum U Wheat U event set for Aug. 13 in Wichita
High Plains Journal’s Sorghum U/Wheat U event is set for August 13 at the Doubletree Hotel in Wichita, Kansas.
This free, one-day education event, will kick off with a producer panel discussion consisting of sorghum and wheat producers from across the High Plains.
The panelists will include Chris Tanner, Zack Rendel and Keef Felty. Matt Durler with National Sorghum Producers will moderate the session.
Several presenters are lined up to give breakout sessions at the event, including Dalton Henry, U.S. Wheat Associates, with the changes in wheat seed technology; Brian Arnall, Oklahoma State University, will give a presentation on managing sorghum fertility to maximize profitability; Kelsey Onefre of Kansas State University will give a breakout session on disease management in wheat; Matt Durler, National Sorghum Producers, will present on climate smart sustainability in sorghum; John Duff, Sero Ag Strategies on behalf of National Sorghum Producers, will give a presentation on emerging markets in sorghum; and Romulo Lollato from Kansas State University will also host a breakout session.
Attendees can enjoy a complimentary lunch while they hear a keynote speech from Matt Hines of Loewen Associates, who will give a market outlook in sorghum and wheat.
