The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Dec. 22, reported receipts of 38,745 head compared to 62,831 head a week ago and 43,913 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 18,708 head, 1,300 to 1,750 lbs., 191.00 to 196.00 (194.99); 65 to 80% Choice, 1,226 head, 1,350 to 1,575 lbs., 191.00 to 195.00 (192.72); 35 to 65% Choice, 622 head, 1,325 to 1,550 lbs., 191.00.
