High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Feb. 10, reported receipts of 59,845 head compared to 46,684 head a week ago and 64,248 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 20,829 head, 1,369 to 1,685 lbs., 203.00 to 213.00 (207.25); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,255 head, 1,350 to 1,625 lbs., 205.00 to 208.00 (206.37); 35 to 65% Choice, 2,134 head, 1,280 to 1,500 lbs., 204.00 to 206.00 (205.79). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 1,332 head, 1,475 to 1,600 lbs., 208.00 to 210.00 (209.09). Dress delivered, over 80% Choice, 11,855 head, 837 to 1,111 lbs., 320.00 to 333.00 (327.09); 65 to 80% Choice, 1,326 head, 766 to 992 lbs., 320.00 to 328.00 (325.79); 35 to 65%, 330 head, 1,058 lbs., 328.00.
