High Plains cattle sales report
The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending June 8, reported receipts of 63,138 head compared to 64,894 head a week ago and 52,449 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 16,456 head, 1,325 to 1,650 lbs., 227.00 to 244.00 (239.34); 65 to 80% Choice, 3,910 head, 1,250 to 1,540 lbs., 225.00 to 242.00 (230.61); 35 to 65% Choice, 4,370 head, 1,225 to 1,450 lbs., 225.00 to 235.00 (231.72). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 830 head, 1,475 to 1,550 lbs., 238.00 to 243.00 (241.63). Dress delivered, over 80% Choice, 6,485 head, 824 to 1,076 lbs., 375.00 to 386.00 (380.37); 65 to 80% Choice, 408 head, 807 to 1,056 lbs., 378.00 to 380.00 (379.81); Dressed FOB, over 80% Choice, 753 head, 933 to 1,040 lbs., 380.00 to 385.00 (383.81).
