Western Kansas – Harvest is certainly in full swing. We have been putting in some long days. The yields are good for both dryland and irrigated wheat. The test weights have been 56 to 65 pounds per bushel.
We’ve been busy and feeling blessed to have such nice wheat to cut. I have always enjoyed cutting wheat in Kansas. We have six combines here in western Kansas and three by Dodge City that just finished up and will be here tomorrow.
Tomorrow is the fourth of July. Enjoy your day and please be safe. We’ll be cutting wheat. We have highs in the 90s and slight chances of rain the next few days. Summer wheat harvest is flying by quickly as usual.
