High Plains cattle sales report
The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending July 20, reported receipts of 49,434 head compared to 64,226 head a week ago and 57,844 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 13,295 head, 1,320 to 1,600 lbs., 228.00 to 242.50 (239.47); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,495 head, 1,325 to 1,550 lbs., 230.00 to 240.00 (231.16); 35 to 65% Choice, 729 head, 1,350 to 1,500 lbs., 228.00 to 230.00 (229.45).
