Historic EE Ranch in Kansas Flint Hills hits market for $23.75 million
The historic EE Ranch, a sprawling 6,420.29± deeded-acre property nestled in the scenic Flint Hills of eastern Kansas, is now available for sale, according to a news release. Hall and Hall stated the asking price was $23,754,000 for the iconic cow ranch. Operational for more than 75 years, this is a rare offering of contiguous native tallgrass prairie.
Since 1994, the current owner has significantly invested in the ranch’s infrastructure, transforming it into a leading purebred Hereford operation. The ranch features 18 well-maintained pastures, supported by 26 ponds (some spring-fed), Shawnee Creek, and rural water access at its headquarters and residential areas.
The meticulously kept headquarters includes a modern sale barn, two metal calving barns, three metal cattle sheds, two enclosed hay barns, two machine sheds, and a metal shop building, alongside six overhead bulk storage bins. The property boasts seven residences, with four located at the headquarters, notably the 2,272± sq ft “Big House” and the 3,472± sq ft “Lodge,” which previously served as the manager’s home.
Beyond its agricultural prowess, the EE Ranch offers exceptional recreational opportunities. Its rich wildlife habitat, protected by limited public access, includes hardwood draws, rock formations, and numerous food plots. Situated in Kansas Deer Management Unit 12, renowned for “Big Bucks,” the ranch provides prime hunting for Boone & Crockett trophy deer, making it a true wildlife sanctuary.
Located approximately 70 miles east of Wichita, the ranch offers convenient access to regional cities such as Tulsa, Kansas City, and Joplin. Nearby Toronto Lake and Fall River Lake provide additional recreational activities including hunting, fishing, hiking, and birdwatching.
