High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending July 28, reported receipts of 51,780 head compared to 49,434 head a week ago and 61,080 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 18,674 head, 1,275 to 1,600 lbs., 230.00 to 245.00 (240.73); 65 to 80% Choice, 1,314 head, 1,300 to 1,450 lbs., 230.00 to 240.00 (233.03); 35 to 65% Choice, 2,009 head, 1,250 to 1,500 lbs., 226.00 to 232.00 (230.98). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 1,907 head, 1,450 to 1,600 lbs., 239.00 to 243.00 (242.01); 65 to 80% Choice, 612 head, 1,425 to 1,450 lbs., 243.00 to 245.00 (244.66); 35 to 65% Choice, 239 head, 1,500 lbs., 243.00.
