5 States Beef Conference returns with two-day event
The 5 States Beef Conference returns Oct. 14-15, featuring timely beef industry updates to local area producers.
Who: The two-day event will connect producers with local experts to gather practical information and allow them to network with other producers across Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Colorado and New Mexico.
What: The conference will cover a variety of topics, including grazing efficiency, current research updates, the economics of dairy beef crosses, grazing management in western rangelands, beef genetic technologies, herd expansion economics and life cycle analysis of beef production systems.
Relevant information to cow-calf, stocker and feedlot operators will be presented.
When: Oct. 14-15.
Where: The Oct. 14 session will be in Beaver, Oklahoma, at the Beaver County Fair Building. Registration begins at 2 p.m., with the session running from 2:30-7:30 p.m. The Oct. 15 session is held in Dalhart, Texas, at the Frank Phillips College Rahll Campus. The program is scheduled from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. with registration opening 30 minutes before.

A beef dinner will be provided at both locations, with the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association providing the Beaver meal.
Speakers from Oklahoma State University, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, West Texas A&M University, Kansas State University and New Mexico State University will present across the two days.
