The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Oct. 5, reported receipts of 41,942 head compared to 47,212 head a week ago and 46,968 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 12,389 head, 1,300 to 1,650 lbs., 227.00 to 232.00 (229.95); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,736 head, 1,300 to 1,600 lbs., 230.00 to 233.00 (232.81); 35 to 65% Choice, 2,097 head, 1,350 to 1,550 lbs., 231.00 to 233.00 (232.89).
