Jake Slatten, vice chair of the Beaver County Conservation District, has announced the Conservation District will host a Ranch Conversation at Beaver, Oklahoma on Jan. 15. The Ranch Conversation will be held at the First Christian Church, 517 Avenue C in Beaver.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. with the meeting beginning at 9:30 a.m. and concluding by 3 p.m.

“Ranch Conversations are well known for bringing agricultural producers, rural people, and agencies that deliver programs together to provide information, answer questions, and exchange ideas.  A highlight of the day will include an update on the new ‘Soil Health and Regenerative Agriculture’ pilot program.”

He added that Zac Stuckey, publisher of the High Plains Journal will serve as the emcee for the meeting.

The focus of the Beaver Ranch Conversation will be to provide current information to producers and community leaders about state and federal programs and possible funding opportunities and other assistance that might be available to them, including agricultural financing, Because of the recent changes and new program announcements, there is a need for outreach meetings where agency leaders can meet face-to-face with farmers, ranchers, and community leaders and provide firsthand information about current programs. There is no charge to attend the conversation and lunch will be provided.
“It is the goal of the Beaver County Conservation District to provide as much information as possible to the producers in this area, so that they can be one step ahead when it comes to accessing programs early in the funding cycle,” Slatten said.

The Ranch Conversation will feature speakers from the Oklahoma Conservation Commission, U.S. Department of Agriculture’sNatural Resources Conservation Service, Farm Service Agency, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Barn Group Land Trust, SNB Bank,N.A. and the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation.
