The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Jan. 18, reported receipts of 55,652 head compared to 56,437 head a week ago and 65,269 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 18,619 head, 1,375 to 1,725 lbs., 230.00 to 235.00 (232.40); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,602 head, 1,360 to 1,700 lbs., 233.00 to 234.00 (233.04); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,016 head, 1,300 to 1,550 lbs., 233.00.
