Since 1972, the Beef Improvement Federation has annually recognized outstanding seedstock and commercial producers who demonstrate industry leadership and commitment to genetic improvement. The deadline to submit nominations for the 2026 awards is March 15.
Application forms are available online at BeefImprovement.org. BIF member organizations can nominate producers for these awards. Nominees are evaluated by a selection committee using a comprehensive set of criteria, including selection objectives, marketing strategies, short- and long-term goals, record-keeping systems and implementation, carcass merit and end-product focus, breeding systems, forage resources, innovations and improvements, contributions to community and industry, and the role BIF principles play in influencing management decisions.
Each BIF member organization may submit up three nominations per category. From the nominations received, up to five finalists will be selected for each award. The 2026 award winners, along with all finalists, will be honored at the BIF Annual Symposium scheduled for June 1 to 4 in Boise, Idaho.
