Kansas Hay Report

Kansas—This past week, demand has stayed strong, largely attributed to expanding drought conditions across portions of the state. Areas that have received adequate moisture report strong crop development, with alfalfa and wheat conditions rated as good to excellent. Conversely, other regions continue to experience severe moisture deficits, accompanied by heightened insect pressure impacting crop performance. In these drought-affected areas, alfalfa growth has been limited and stands are showing signs of stress and drying out, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Mar. 28.
