Deere’s air cart targets efficiency for small grains growers
John Deere has introduced the C1100T air cart, a higher-capacity addition to its C-Series lineup aimed at improving efficiency for small grains producers.
The company said the trailing cart is designed to allow operators to cover more acres between refills during narrow seeding windows. The C1100T includes features found in existing C-Series models, such as AccuRate meters, the EZCal calibration system and integration with the John Deere Operations Center.
Anthony Styczinski, marketing manager for seeders and planters at John Deere, Moline, Illinois, said limited seeding windows create pressure for growers. He noted that increased cart capacity can help reduce downtime and improve field productivity.
The C1100T includes stainless-steel AccuRate meters designed to handle fertilizer and seed treatments. The meters allow operators to adjust speed and volume individually, supporting variable-rate prescriptions. The system also includes Curve Compensation and SectionCommand Pro to improve application accuracy.
The EZCal system provides push-button calibration, allowing operators to complete the process from the cab. The company said the system reduces the need for manual calibration and helps operators adjust to changing field conditions. The ActiveCal system provides tank-level data and acreage estimates based on remaining product.
New features on the C1100T include an EZLift system for handling bulk bags and a redesigned platform for improved access. A 12-inch hydraulic conveyor is intended to simplify seed handling and increase clearance near the tires. The cart also includes a larger flex tank with a capacity of 105 bushels.
The air cart is compatible with John Deere’s Operations Center Logistics feature when paired with G5 or G5Plus CommandCenter displays and a G5 Advanced license. The system provides estimates on remaining acreage and time to empty, helping coordinate refilling between operators and support crews.
John Deere also announced updates to its AccuRate metering system, which is now compatible with select 1910 air carts. Additional upgrades include the RelativeFlow blockage monitoring system, designed to detect uneven product flow across rows.
