Nebraska FFA Foundation opens annual FFA jacket donation campaign

The Nebraska FFA Foundation has launched its annual Blue Jackets. Bright Futures. campaign, an effort to raise funds to provide official FFA jackets to Nebraska students.

The campaign runs from Aug. 1 to Sept. 1, 2026. A tax-deductible donation of $150 covers the cost of one FFA jacket, along with a tie or scarf.

Students apply to receive a jacket through an application supported by a statement from their FFA adviser. A committee of donors, board members and supporters reviews the applications and selects recipients.

According to the Nebraska FFA Foundation, more than 500 students applied for jackets last year, but only 257 received them. Foundation officials said the number of jackets awarded each year depends on donor support.

The foundation said the blue corduroy jacket has long been a symbol of FFA membership and participation in agricultural education programs. Each jacket is personalized with the student’s name and FFA chapter.

The foundation is encouraging former FFA members and other supporters of agricultural education to contribute to the campaign to help expand access to jackets for Nebraska students.
