Summers Manufacturing debuts multiple pieces of equipment
Summers Manufacturing, Devils Lake, North Dakota, debuted equipment and conducted field demonstrations at the Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa.
Equipment at the show included the 1648 Field Belt conveyor and two additions to the Spray Fill Xpress line. Field demonstrations included the Elite Chisel Samurai, Disk Ripper and Summers Renegade VRT.
1648 Field Belt
The 1648 Field Belt moves grain at 10,000 bushels per hour.
All-wheel drive comes standard, with locking hubs engineered so an operator who hooks up and forgets to disengage the all-wheel drive won’t damage the drive. The 1648 is backed by a two-year warranty.
SFX810 drone spray fill
The SFX810 is built specifically for drone spray operations, pre-batching chemical loads so spray drones spend more time in the air and less time waiting on fill. It is available in a two-tank, 40-gallon configuration or a single 80-gallon tank.
An optional dual-motor setup pairs two 32-gallon-per-minute electric motors — one dedicated to clean water for tank rinsing and the other to loading and agitation — and can be wired for 110 volts or 220 volts to match the operator’s trailer setup. The SFX810 features stainless-steel tank construction and fork pockets on all sides for easy movement around the yard or field.
SFX830 spray fill
The SFX830 is a compact chemical-batching system built for self-propelled and pull-type commercial application sprayers. It has an 80-gallon capacity with the features of the larger SFX1630 and SFX2430 in a compact 40-by-40-inch footprint. Like the rest of the line, it is built with stainless-steel tank construction and fork pockets on all sides for mobility.
The 26-foot Elite Chisel Samurai performs multiple jobs in a single pass. Samurai vertical-tillage blades size residue up front and can be adjusted from 3 to 15 degrees, letting operators match aggressiveness to conditions without leaving the cab. A three-bar harrow with a hydraulic basket provides the final field finish, and a compact transport width of 13 feet, 2 inches makes the 26-foot machine easier to transport between fields.
The Disk Ripper features a coulter finishing tool designed to finish the soil after deep tillage.
Summers featured the Renegade VRT in the Field Demo and Ride and Drive area, pulled by a tractor running the PTx OutRun autonomy system. The demonstration showed the tillage equipment operating behind driverless power.
“Farmers fuel and feed the world, and our job is to create the efficiencies that make that work pay. This lineup covers a lot of ground — grain handling, spraying, tillage, and now a look at autonomy — but it all starts in the same place: the real problems farmers face every season. We don’t build for a spec sheet. We build for the field,” said Matt Volkmar, director of sales and marketing.
