Arkansas livestock auction summary
The summary of livestock auctions in Arkansas for the week ending March 12, showed estimated receipts of 12,140 head selling, compared to 6,300 head a week ago and 8,950 head last year, according to the USDA-Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Little Rock, Arkansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were selling mostly steady to $7 lower. Feeder heifers were mixed, selling $2 lower to $4 higher. Slaughter cows were selling steady. Slaughter bulls were selling steady. The supply included 7,650 stocker and feeder calves, 2,350 feeder yearlings, 955 replacement cows, 980 slaughter cows and 255 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 45% yearling heifers.
