Arkansas livestock auction summary
The summary of livestock auctions in Arkansas for the week ending Oct. 5, showed estimated receipts of 9,145 head selling, compared to 9,895 head a week ago and 12,910 head last year, according to the USDA-Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Little Rock, Arkansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were mixed, but selling mostly steady to $9 lower. Feeder heifers were selling mostly $1 to $6 lower. Slaughter cows were selling steady to $2 lower. Slaughter bulls were selling $3 lower. The supply included 6,455 stocker and feeder calves, 1,335 feeder yearlings, 600 replacement cows, 675 slaughter cows and 80 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 39% yearling heifers.
