Arkansas livestock auction summary
The Arkansas livestock auction for the week ending Oct. 26, showed estimated receipts of 7,675 head selling, compared to 6,675 head a week ago and 9,870 head last year, according to the USDA-Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Little Rock, Arkansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers under 600 pounds were selling mostly $1 to $5 higher, over 600 pounds were selling $2 to $4 lower. Feeder heifers under 450 pounds were selling $1 to $2 higher, over 450 pounds were selling mostly steady to $4 lower. Slaughter cows were selling $1 to $4 lower. Slaughter bulls were selling $2 lower. The supply included 5,010 stocker and feeder calves, 1,355 feeder yearlings, 320 replacement cows, 905 slaughter cows and 105 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 37% yearling heifers.
