Tulsa livestock auction report
The Tulsa livestock auction, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 2,234 head selling on April 16, compared to 1,440 head a week ago and 1,497 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, steers were selling $3 to $5 lower. Heifers were selling $2 to $4 higher. Quality was plain. Demand was moderate. Receipts included 20% over 600 pounds with 40% heifers. Slaughter cows were selling mostly steady to $1 higher. Slaughter bulls were selling $2 higher. A total of 396 cows and bulls sold with 77% going to packers.
