Tulsa livestock auction report
The Tulsa livestock auction, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 1,722 head selling on March 26, compared to 1,856 head a week ago and 1,617 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, steers were selling $6 to $9 lower. Heifers were selling $5 to $6 lower. Demand was good. Quality was mostly plain, few attractive. Receipts included 20% over 600 pounds and 48% heifers. Slaughter cows were selling mostly steady to $1 lower. Slaughter bulls were selling mostly steady. A total of 224 cows and bulls sold with 60% going to packers.
