Pratt Livestock Auction report
The Pratt Livestock Auction, Pratt, Kansas, reported receipts of 2,663 head selling on May 31, compared to 2,336 head a week ago and 3,073 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers 650 to 950 pounds were selling $2 to $6 higher. Feeder heifers 700 to 850 pounds were selling firm to $3 higher. There were not enough medium and large frame 1, steer and heifer calves for a market test. Trade was active and demand good. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling steady to firm. The feeder supply was 49% steers, 51% heifers with 96% 600 pounds and over.
