High Plains direct slaughter cattle sales report

High Plains weekly weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending March 25, totaled selling 120,137 head, compared to 104,711 head a week ago and 94,924 head last year, according to the USDA Livestock, Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 17,971 head, 1,265 to 1,580 lbs., 124.00 to 130.00 (126.30); 65 to 80% Choice, 16,940 head, 1,185 to 1,575 lbs., 122.00 to 126.50 (125.49); 35 to 65% Choice, 9,936 head, 1,200 to 1,480 lbs., 123.00 to 126.00 (125.85).
