Tulia Livestock Auction report
The Tulia Livestock Auction, Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 4,558 head selling on March 15, compared to 3,878 head a week ago and 3,588 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were selling steady to $2 lower. Feeder heifers were selling $3 to $5 lower. Trade was active on good demand with yearlings continuing to come off of short wheat. Drought continues as the trading area has gone 5 months without rain. Slaughter cows and bulls made up less than 1% replacements, 0% replacements and 99% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 74% steers and 26% heifers, nearly 93% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
