High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Nov. 17, reported receipts of 50,801 head compared to 58,627 head a week ago and 38,739 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 21,618 head, 1,300 to 1,725 lbs., 183.00 to 188.00 (186.36); 65 to 80% Choice, 1,564 head, 1,275 to 1,585 lbs., 186.00 to 188.00 (186.51); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,373 head, 1,300 to 1,500 lbs., 186.00 to 187.00 (186.69).

Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 577 head, 1,400 to 1,550 lbs., 186.00 to 188.00 (187.13). Dress delivered, over 80% Choice, 5,725 head, 868 to 1,069 lbs., 288.00 to 300.00 (291.75); 65 to 80% Choice, 702 head, 775 to 973 lbs., 290.00.
