Springfield cattle market report
The Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Missouri, reported receipts of 1,477 head on Jan. 3, compared to 715 head two weeks ago and 2,720 head last year, according to the USDA-Missouri Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Jefferson City, Missouri.
There was no recent good test for a price comparison although a higher undertone was noted for calves. The demand was moderate to good and the supply was moderate. The feeder cattle supply included 55% steers, 1% was dairy steers, 39% heifers and 5% was bulls. The feeder cattle supply over 600 pounds was 48%.
